An Android app that lets you see how well-liked you are among your friends based on how they rated you in a question game.
The creation of this Android app revolutionized how individuals perceive their social standing among friends. The app's core functionality revolved around a question-based rating system that provided users with a metric to gauge their popularity among their social circle. Leveraging the thumbs-up and thumbs-down functionality, the app calculated a pop-bar percentage, reflecting a user's status based on friend count and friend ratings.
The heart of the app lay in the pop-bar percentage, an algorithmic representation derived from the combination of friend count and received ratings. This percentage acted as a unique indicator, portraying a user's standing among their friends and offering insights into their perceived likability within their social circle.
The question list game provided a window into how friends had rated a user. By clicking on the pop-bar percentage, users could access a detailed list showcasing individual friend ratings, allowing for transparency and understanding of received feedback.
The app's 'Friends' feature enabled users to delve into their friends' profiles, offering details such as friend count and their respective standings in relation to the user. This feature provided a glimpse into the networks of friends, fostering a deeper understanding of social dynamics.
Users could actively participate by altering their votes for friends in response to changes in their interactions. This allowed for constant updates to the pop-bar percentage, reflecting evolving social dynamics and perceptions.
In this project, I spearheaded the design and development of the app's user interface and functionalities. My responsibilities encompassed conceptualizing and implementing the features that constituted the core functionality of the app, allowing users to engage seamlessly with the rating system.
My work extended to the technical aspects of the app's development, leveraging Android Studio and Java to build a robust and intuitive user interface. Additionally, I handled the app's publication on the Play Store, ensuring a smooth rollout for users to access and utilize the app's unique functionalities.
To enhance user experience and ensure app stability, I integrated Crashlytics and Google Analytics for app crash monitoring and analytical insights, providing continuous improvements and refinements based on user interactions.
The app's successful creation and deployment symbolize the potential of technology in shaping and redefining social perceptions. By providing users with a tangible metric for assessing their popularity among friends, the app not only offered insight into social standing but also encouraged active engagement and interaction among peers.
In essence, this project exemplified the fusion of innovative features, user-centric design, and technological finesse, paving the way for an intriguing and interactive platform that challenged conventional notions of social dynamics and perception.
